Studying the Old Testamanent
On October 16, 2021, I was blessed by having an incredible privilege of a Zoom conference with Dr. Edwin Hernandez and Dr. Zdravko Stefanovic. The purpose was to more deeply comprehend the Old Testament. As I have studied this priceless document, I have learned that reading the Bible and understanding the Bible are two different things. As a result, I frequently have more questions than answers. The purpose of this session was to begin finding answers. The credentials of these two learned scholars are below.

Serving Advent Health University as president since August 2017, Edwin Hernández, Ph.D., is charged with leading a new phase of strategic growth and development at AHU. Under his leadership as provost from 2015 to 2017, AHU sharpened its standards, embraced innovation, and expanded degree programs. Dr. Hernández has been a leading scholar and strong advocate for Christian education, leading several philanthropic urban initiatives and research studies, particularly regarding Latino/a communities in need. Notable achievements include serving as vice president of academic affairs at Antillean Advent University in Puerto Rico, program officer for The Pew Charitable Trusts, and founding director of the Center for the Study of Latino Religion at the University of Notre Dame.

Zdravko Stefanovic, Ph.D., grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, southern Europe. He completed his education in Croatia, France and the United States with the area of specialization in biblical languages and interpretation. For twelve years he taught religion in various countries of the Asia-Pacific region and for another twelve years he taught at Wall Walla University. At present, he teaches religion at AdventHealth University (AHU) in Orlando, FL., and organizes Bible Land Tours to Greece and Israel with his wife Bozana who is a math professor.
Dr. Stefanovic has written popular and academic books and articles. He has contributed articles to the Anchor Bible Dictionary, New Interpreter’s Bible Dictionary, Andrews Study Bible, Andrews Bible Commentary, Seventh-day Adventist International Bible Commentary and Seventh-day Adventist International Biblical Theological Dictionary. His book The Aramaic of Daniel in the Light of Old Aramaic was published by Sheffield Academic Press, England. His commentary on the book of Daniel was published in 2007 by Pacific Press.
